Hi Fellow Jewellers and Designers

It was headed “Changing the game” to show you the power of cad design on an industry that is still scared to embrace it as some evil tool that is going to take their living away.

This is such a negative way of thinking that has dogged the industry for years as though their is a  stigma in embracing the new and keeping the industry in the dark ages. Its almost like the old secret lodges my grandfather frequented. The free masons etc. I remember he would dress in his suit with medals and awards through the secret society and disappear for the afternoon. He looked so grand in this outfit. It made him feel good because he was with other people who wanted to aspire to his position. Did it do him any good financially? Not one brass razoo. Did it do his family any good? NO. By the time he paid for his medals and fanalia they missed out. Did it do him any good? You bet it did. He was the Grandmaster for a time. I think thats what they called him because remember they were a secret society.

So get out of saying that handmade and other secret arts of jewellery that are so secret that everyone but you has knowledge of them is the best. It does not help one brass razoo the new people hoping to learn jewellery.

Yes,  the point is it has taken nothing from the jewellery trade as they still finish their jewellery items at the bench through trade ways.

I don’t know for how long the bench work as we know it will last because of the nanotechnologies that will come to the trade within the next 10 years. This will change the way we do things forever.

I don’t know about the printing techniques of the future but I can predict how it will play out. The printing methods will not be wax printers and the present casting methods will not be as we know. They will be metal printers that will be able to print anything, in any colours of metals and combinations of, at a molecular structure. That is they will be able to create metals from molecules that are the elements that create metal and are the actual building blocks of the universe, the atom.
