2008 has been busy so far

Hello Friends:

I recently mailed my monthly newsletter. You can subscribe on my website (FAQ section).

Have you ever wondered how I make the woven fiber necklaces that are shown on my site? I’ll be happy to share that information with you. I’m writing a regular column on tapestry needleweaving for BellaOnline. Right now I’m doing a series of articles showing how to construct a needlewoven necklace. I include a lot of photos along with detailed instructions. I think that you’ll find it interesting. If you would like to check out Part I of this series, check back in these posts for the URL or e-mail me. Part II will be posted shortly so don’t delay in taking a look at Part I.

So far, 2008 has been a very exciting year for me. I’m focusing on new jewelry techniques and I have a number of examples of my latest work on my website at www.dianakirkpatrick.com. – look in the Wired section under New Directions. The new techniques include a delicate wire sculpture pendant in rutilated quartz and gold wire and a variety of pieces in woven silver or gold wire. I will have a Infinite Horizons Collection coming soon – different designs in jewels and wire. I would really appreciate some feedback. Please take a few moments to have a look and send me a note about what you think. I’m honestly interested in hearing what you like (and what you don’t like).

I will be participating in the Spring Arts Festival in Gainesville, FL on April 5 and 6. I’ll let everybody know my booth number as soon as possible. I’ll be announcing other shows and dates as they get closer.

I’m currently scheduling jewelry parties for March through July 2008. Parties can be in your home or in an office. I have also been invited to set up at various meetings. If you’d like to host one of these parties, contact me for details.

Early this month I was one of several Florida artists selected to participate in a professional development seminar in St. Petersburg, Florida. Unrelated to this seminar, I’ve been developing some promotional websites that cater to the arts and artists in all fields. Here are links to a couple of them:
