In this test a pallion of solder will be melted with a TIG torch under argon shield gas in a process known as TIG brazing. The power level will be too low to melt the titanium but high enough to melt the solder. The argon gas will greatly reduce the oxidation of the titanium’s surface and should allow for the wetting of the surface by the solder.
