These earrings are based on a portfolio piece that I created in 2007 entitled <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/freeforged.net\/jewelry.php?section=1&amp;listing=10\">Nereid<\/a><span style=\"font-family:georgia\">. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/freeforged.net\/images\/jewelry\/medium\/Nereid.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px;text-align: center;width: 400px\" src=\"http:\/\/freeforged.net\/images\/jewelry\/medium\/Nereid.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><br \/><span style=\"font-family:georgia\">A nereid is a sea nymph according to Greek mythology. This necklace features a kelp chain of sterling silver and copper links. Her face is copper, pierced in a design that shows kelp leaves and seahorses in her hair. Her brain is cloisonn\u00e9 enameled copper in the shape of a brain with a wave in it. This shows that her thoughts are of the sea, her home.
