Business as Unusual

Where are my loyal blog fans???

I’ve been going through a tough time changing medications recently. I’ll be on a regular dose of my new medication soon, so things should stabilize.

In the meantime, I’ve been getting acupuncture treatments and doing yoga. The yoga is really good, but the acupuncture is hit-or-miss. Sometimes my migraines get better after a treatment, sometimes worse. Yesterday, I got the electric version of acupuncture. It was quite an interesting sensation.

I’m going to be taking evening tai chi and drawing classes starting next week. It should be fun and interesting. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and learning new skills. I really know nothing about tai chi. I’ve been told that it can help with migraines, so it definitely seems worth trying.

I’m planning to start making high-end fashion jewelry to sell to boutiques and online. I’ve always been a “crafty” person, and I’d love to put that to good use. Just flipping through the wholesale catalog of jewelry-making supplies is exciting. If my jewelry-making enterprise takes off, I’ll get to set up my very own sweatshop in Alviso.

Question of the day: Does anyone have a good frappuccino recipe to share? I’ve been experimenting with only limited success.

Thanks for the Peets link! I’ll definitely try some of those recipes soon. Sometimes I like the sweetness of the Starbucks stuff, but other times I’d prefer something a little less sugary.

Alcohol is definitely a bad migraine trigger for me. I haven’t had a drop of alcohol since last summer when I had a few sips of beer (I’m such a rebel!) I have so many triggers, it’s frustrating: warm weather, cigarette smoke, sharp cheese, marinated food, travel, light, perfume… oh my!

hey chel… although caffeine is surely a contributor, your brother gets those migraines, though to a lesser extent then you, on or off ‘the sauce.’ but if yer gonna dive in, i say go for the peet’s version, they call it freddo or something, rich and not as sweet as starbucks and coffee-bean and tea leaf versions. go here:

enjoy, decaffeinated, and thanks for the blog update.

Yeah, maybe caffeine isn’t the best thing for migraines… I’ve actually been drinking DECAF coffee lately to cut back on caffeine. (The sacrifices that must be made for one’s health!)

Tai chi is a form of exercise. (It’s what those old Chinese folks do in the park in the morning…)

Chai is a form of very tasty beverage. Yet again, I go for the decaf chai. heh

I think chai might be the beverage to drink after doing tai chi. Well, I’ll try it and let you know.

I get so confused……tai chi is a drink of tea or that standing martial artsy kind of thing….or is frappuccino a coffee drink consumed while doing tai chi?
Certainly a coffee drink can’t POSSIBLY be good for a migraine sufferer. I think I read that whilst studying for my Medical Degree on-line.
