Last night, while tired and migrainey, I sketched some new earring designs. Today I’m trying to make them reality. Wish me luck.
I went to a bead show yesterday, and picked up a bunch of basalt (lava) beads. I also got a great deal on some rubies. Pretty exciting. So exciting, in fact, that I forgot to look for kyanite and sapphires… =/
I made several new lariat necklaces in the last few days. They’ll be available for sale online as soon as I photograph them. I love landscape photography, but product photography is not my favorite thing. I find myself putting it off as much as possible.
Question of the day: Is it possible to write a sci-fi tv show that has no inconsistencies? (I’ve been watching Andromeda and Farscape recently…)

If all of the science is based off of science we know now, it wouldn’t be _fiction_. It would just be “life as we know it today” and not too many people would be interested in watching it. Writers can build off of science we know now, but they have to fill in the gaps to make things futuristic and fantastic.
It’s possible to have the science be all based off current science facts while the story is fiction. But then the science facts that we know today may change and then the science part would become fiction.
I think it might be possible to have a sci-fi show without plot inconsistencies, but “science fiction” in itself is an oxymoron! There’s just no way to fictionalize science and keep it consistent.
If the show is really short, then yes. But the longer the show runs, the more a dropped line will create an inconsistency.
Such as, the first episode of Next Generation has Wesly on the holodeck fall into some water and get wet. Then he walks off the holodeck still wet. Then the Captian comments about it. But, that could be written over by saying that the replicators work with the holodeck. Voyager had a lot of drinking going on in the holodeck. I wonder if they drank alcohol, then walked off the holodeck if they become sober.
