Photography Woes

by micheledodge on July 16, 2006

I spent all of yesterday taking photos that aren’t usuable.

I use a white background for my jewelry shots, so auto-metering makes my shots too dark. When I increase the exposure time, I get burn-out from the reflection of light off of the silver, and camera shake becomes a real problem. I went out and bought batteries for my camera remote last night, so I’m hoping that will take care of the camera shake issue, and I’ll be able to shoot longer exposure times. I’ll work on that later tonight.

In the meantime, I’m back to doing what I enjoy, which is making jewelry. Lucky for me, I got a custom order this morning, so I have an excuse to put off the photography a few hours. 🙂

Question of the day: Will someone please post some favorite summertime recipes? Thanks!

1 part Vermouth or Dry Sherry
1 part green olive brine
5 parts gin/vodka

Keep ingredients in the refrigerator for one day before mixing. Then add all into a shaker or jar. Shake well. Put the shaker or jar in the freezer for several hours. Shake well. Pour mixture into a martini glass and garnish with pimento stuffed queen sized olives.

Ultimate Summer Goodness

Go to the store. Pick out a large pack of popsicles. Take them home. Put them in the freezer. Eat them like a chain smoker worrying about their taxes.

Get Lipton’s Instant Ice tea. Use Lemon or Raspberry flavors. Drink after following direction on the package.

Get sausages. Vegetarian or non-vegetarian. Go out camping someplace outside. Find a stick. Put the sausage on the stick. Put the sausage side of the stick into your camp fire. Ensure the smoke flavors the sausage. Char slightly. Eat at will. Drink beer from a cooler with ice. Stand and proclaim something irrelevant.
