I hand-fabricated these black star diopside earrings. Each earring has a bezel-set 8mm round diopside gemstone. The black star diopside has an optical effect called asterism. If you look closely at the photos, you can see the star in the stones. It's much easier to see in person.
The bezel is made of fine and sterling silver. I soldered the sterling silver ear wires directly to the backs of the bezels. The earrings measure 2cm (3/4 inch) in overall length from the tops of the ear wires.
