I used some really wonderful chunky faceted stones in this necklace that were sold to me as garnet, but they look like quartz to me. They are transparent to translucent, and have a gorgeous range of yellows, greens, oranges, and browns in them.

In addition to the beautiful chunky mystery stones, I used smooth round green tourmalated quartz, faceted yellow citrine, and faceted olive green vesuvianite. I also used copper colored seed beads in this necklace. The three strands are graduated lengths.

The clasp is a hook-and-eye style sterling silver clasp. The shortest strand measures approximately 23 inches (58cm) in length, and the longest strand is about 26 inches (66cm), so this is a nice long necklace.

Citrine is November's birthstone.

About sterling silver:
Sterling silver is an alloy consisting of a minimum of 92.5% silver (the other 7.5% is typically copper). I choose to use solid sterling instead of plated metal in my work because it is my experience that plating wears off. Properly cared for sterling silver lasts a lifetime and beyond.
