Spinning Top Spinning

by shelbyvision on September 30, 2010

An addendum to my previous post:

Well, I had been afraid to try it, fearing that it might careen out of control, not knowing what to expect, but it turned out to be very well behaved. It stays pretty much in one spot, very well balanced, spinning smoothly, until slowing down when it wobbles a bit, then goes over on its side and stops without anything  bad happening. Whew!

O_O Just what I am looking for. Why doesn’t anyone sell these?
The closest I can find to a solid metal top is those little Inception movie toys, but those are barely larger than an inch tall.

Good job on the one you made… I will contribute when you do a Kickstarter to go into production of them. 🙂

YeeeHaaaah! I just *knew* it would be a well behaved, well balanced little top! Glad you finally got up the faith in yourself to set her spinning!

Good goin’ Steve! It’s a beautiful masterpiece of metalsmith engineering.
