Where are the spam filters?

by shelbyvision on January 13, 2011

For the last week or so my Orchid blog has been getting huge amounts of spam. This morning I had 15 new ones. Clicking on the spam button gets rid of them, but doesn’t seem to prevent new ones from coming in. Almost all of them show the same email address, so I’m wondering what wrong with Orchid Blogs’ spam filter? Is anyone else having this problem?

Thanks so much! It’s already working. No spam in my inbox today, and when I logged into my blog, Akismet said it had already caught 56 spam messages!

Thanks, futurecrash. I checked it out, and it looks like it’s up to the system admin.

the orchid blog network is run on wordpress multi-user, they should have the akismet spam filter installed, I run a couple of these systems myself, they just need to network install the akismet spam filter, and then hard code the api key into the plug’s php file. This will auto-turn on the spam filter for every blog.

I am not sure if they have allowed you access to the plugin section of the admin area, if they have you can personally install the akismet spam plugin, if not you will need to contact the system admin and have them do it.

Hope this helps.
