We didn’t just launch into production blindly. \u00a0I made him work with artistic wire and we got a few ideas together about how he could make it work. \u00a0We even did a couple of drawings. \u00a0The idea was a) not to waste silver and b) to\u00a0instil\u00a0a bit of the design process into him…Me: “Things just don’t happen, they are planned\u00a0and\u00a0thought through.” Him: “Yeah, yeah, can we start now mum?” \u00a0One can only but try! \u00a0To his credit, he was very patient and took everything I said on board. \u00a0He had no choice of course, if he wanted to be near any equipment he had to listen to instruction intently or I just froze the production. \u00a0He caught on pretty quickly that I mean business especially with regards to safety and proper process.<\/p>\n

I would have liked him to engrave a line to make the the ring look more of a V than a Y but he was happy with his design and that was that. \u00a0It was a great success and everyone \u00a0guessed he’d made it, hence the\u00a0cone of silence\u00a0<\/em>over the project has been lifted.<\/p>\n

He then went on to make his teacher a\u00a0pendant! \u00a0Lucky teacher…I was welling up at the thought and seeing his\u00a0determination\u00a0to maker her\u00a0something\u00a0special was a reflection of his admiration.<\/p>\n

I was really pleased that my workshop had got at least one child thinking outside the box and doing something a little different. \u00a0Last year it was the turn of my daughter and her Market experience (Stuck<\/a>). \u00a0All this makes The Laundry<\/a> about so much more than me. \u00a0Another proud mum moment!<\/p>\n
