(Submissions are due tomorrow and I&#8217;ve never heard of today shipping.)<a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx1Uog_snI\/AAAAAAAAAWs\/aIh0P5rj_-I\/s1600-h\/1_25_09.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px;width: 320px;height: 135px;text-align: center\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx1Uog_snI\/AAAAAAAAAWs\/aIh0P5rj_-I\/s320\/1_25_09.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a> These earrings are for someone with a stretched earlobe (specifically ear hole is stretched from wearing heavy earrings). The sketches above show the front (left) and the side (right). The earring is made of a silver disk and the post is soldered into the middle of the back.<\/p>\n<p>Supplies:<br \/>\n2 20-gauge earring posts and backs<br \/>\n2 silver discs 5\/8 inch diameter<br \/>\n4 20-gauge jump rings (small)<br \/>\n2 pieces of 24 or 26 gauge silver for balling and adding crystal<br \/>\n2 crystals or pearl beads<\/p>\n<p>Steps:<br \/>\n1) Drill a small hole in the silver discs close to the edge (make sure your jump rings can fit through)<br \/>\n2) Use a small punch stamp and hammer to put a dot design around the edge of your discs (pictured below)<br \/>\n3) Use doming block and <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">slightly<\/span> dome discs for depth<br \/>\n4) Take 2 pieces of 24 or 26 gauge wire and use your torch to ball the ends<br \/>\n5) Sandpaper discs (220 grit) for more artistic texture as shown below<br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx1KMMZwGI\/AAAAAAAAAWk\/SLJNZ4CJOBo\/s1600-h\/detail.jpg\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px;width: 184px;height: 150px;text-align: center\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx1KMMZwGI\/AAAAAAAAAWk\/SLJNZ4CJOBo\/s320\/detail.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>6) Solder ear posts on center back of domed discs<br \/>\n7) Add a jump ring through the hold in disc and attach a second jump ring to that (at this step I through them in my tumble vibe to polish for maybe 10 min, before you add the crystal)<br \/>\n8) Use 24 or 26 <span class=\"blsp-spelling-corrected\">gauge<\/span> balled wire and add bead then wire wrap to second jump ring<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx0713txOI\/AAAAAAAAAWc\/cLjz65A6Dac\/s1600-h\/DSC02694.JPG\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px;width: 320px;height: 233px;text-align: center\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx0713txOI\/AAAAAAAAAWc\/cLjz65A6Dac\/s320\/DSC02694.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>Here are your finished earrings!<\/p>\n<div><a href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx02dsWtHI\/AAAAAAAAAWU\/f-qsRqMZoBI\/s1600-h\/DSC02697.JPG\"><img style=\"margin: 0px auto 10px;width: 320px;height: 224px;text-align: center\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_vQwjpChUGaU\/SXx02dsWtHI\/AAAAAAAAAWU\/f-qsRqMZoBI\/s320\/DSC02697.JPG\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>For a slighting easier project skip the dot texture around the edge of the earrings like the ones pictured above.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I missed the deadline for the 30-Minute Earrings book but I thought I&#8217;d share my sketches, design and directions with you.
