﻿{"id":140,"date":"2009-04-11T18:26:21","date_gmt":"2009-04-11T23:26:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bethwicker.userblogs.ganoksin.coms\/?p=140"},"modified":"2009-04-11T18:26:21","modified_gmt":"2009-04-11T23:26:21","slug":"random-acts-of-kindness","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.ganoksin.com\/bethwicker\/2009\/04\/11\/random-acts-of-kindness\/","title":{"rendered":"Random Acts of Kindness"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am a firm believer in Randam Acts of Kindness.\u00a0 Not the helping folks you know kind, the spontaneous helping just to be helping kind of kindness.\u00a0 When Linens N Things went bankrupt, I was able to buy some really nice metal shelves for my studio.\u00a0 My daughter and I drove to Charlotte (2 hours each way) to get them, only to discover that no one in the store knew how to dismantle them, and they would not fit in my Suburban whole.<\/p>\n<p>So there we sat with three sets of metal shelves, already paid for, standing out in the cold right before Christmas &#8211; and only one would fit in the car.\u00a0 A gentleman comes up, sees what we are trying to do, and stays and helps us for 30 minutes.\u00a0 Turns out he has shelves just like these, knows exactly how to dismantle them, helps us take all three sets apart and get them loaded &#8211; and will accept no monetary compensation in return.\u00a0 Just a totally random act of kindness.<\/p>\n<p>I always try to do this, whenever I can &#8211; pass it forward.\u00a0 One day I&#8217;ll be the one needing the kindness.<\/p>\n<p>So when I saw John Rasmussen&#8217;s recent post on Random Acts of Kindness I had to participate &#8211; such a neat idea!<\/p>\n<p>So here&#8217;s the deal:<\/p>\n<p>Give Away &amp; Pass It On &#8211; Random Acts of Kindness Alert &#8211; my turn to pass this on after participating with John Rasmussen.<br \/>\nThe first five people to respond to this post will get something made by me.This offer does have some restrictions and limitations so please read carefully:<\/p>\n<p>-I make no guarantees that you will like what I make.<br \/>\n&#8211; What I pick will be just for you.<br \/>\n&#8211; It\u2019ll be done this year (2009).<\/p>\n<p>&#8211; You have no clue what it\u2019s going to be. It will be something made in the real world and not something cyber. It may be a handmade card, or jewelry, something lovely made out of paper, beads, or a random treasure (like candy!)
