We haven’t posted in a while, we’ve been keeping busy, still after the Tucson show.<\/p>\n

Recently, we posted a quick article about an era in jewelry design we love,<\/a> the Modernist era. Many books and articles have been written about this time from the 1930s all the way up to the ’70’s.
\nDuring that time, along with fields such as furniture, aerospace, automobiles, and home design –
\nwas a field that was drastically overlooked: Jewelry Design and the Jewelry Industry.
\nOften seen are influences of furniture design that departed from standard thinking, as well as, automobile design,
\nwhich made a huge push into futuristic looks and aerodynamic styling.
\nPlanes, trains, and automobiles clearly showed this.
\nThe styling and design was nothing new.
\nArt Deco, Art Neaveau, though completely different, still was mesmerized by lines and sleek distinct curves.
\nA prime example is in trains that were given in aerodynamic look back in the 20s and 30s.
\nBut, what many people overlooked, and is not often talked about is the social issues that played apart of in these eras, which, overlayed an influence into jewelry design, the jewelry industry and jewelry ownership.
\nWe know that there was a resurgence after World War II to settle down and the age of the Suburban Settlement came about.
\nWith the manufacturing of neighborhoods, homes, the making of new family-hoods with television, there became and began a time of luxury.
\nIn travel, in automobiles and home design. Some of the most innovative and hugely impacting designs where created in the 1940s and 1950s.
\nAlso, during the 1950s was the aerospace growth and movement, creating jobs and education programs.
\nFrom that all, stemmed something very interesting often overlooked.<\/p>\n $\"Modernist$

During that era, especially the 40s and 50s,
\nsome of the most famous and innovative jewelry designs and designers were created.<\/p>\n
