Daughter of Taumante, son of the sea, and Electra, <\/span>daughter of the ocean, Iris was also considered to be a goddess of the rainbow. <\/span><\/div>\n

merchants of Asia, Central Africa, and India <\/span>made fortunes to exchange them <\/span><\/div>\n
for ivory, oil palm, or precious stones. Even to this day, the influence of shells can be seen<\/span><\/div>\n
