Botswana Top Achievers, African Leadership Academy and CIDA City Campus to Benefit<\/div>\n

Fulfilling their core mission for the year, the non-profit organization, Diamond Empowerment Fund (D.E.F), continues their seven-year support of emerging young leaders in Africa. <\/span><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/div>\n

The $175,000 grant will be distributed evenly amongst their three beneficiaries: Botswana Top Achievers, which provides the top high school students the opportunity to study at a university of their choice worldwide and then return to Botswana to contribute to its economic diversification and growth; African Leadership Academy, a university preparatory school in Johannesburg, South Africa, founded on the belief that ethical leadership is the key to sustainable development; and CIDA City Campus, South Africa\u2019s first non-profit university offering a four-year business degree.<\/p>\n

Says H.E. Tebelelo Seretse, Ambassador of the Republic of Botswana to the United States \u201cwe greatly appreciate the support of D.E.F in empowering our young people\u201d. Affirms Fred Swaniker, co-founder of African Leadership Academy, \u201cI can’t tell you how having a trusted, committed partner like D.E.F over the years has provided ALA with the peace of mind and financial stability so that we can focus on our mission of developing outstanding leaders who can transform Africa\u201d. Adds Martins Njah, Academic Dean and Acting Executive Director of CIDA City Campus \u201cthank you for supporting our cause and the development of South African rural communities by educating these youths who we pride as agents of change\u201d. <\/p>\n
