Photo: Jimmy West.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div><span style=\"font-family: Georgia, Times New Roman, serif;\">The highlight of the CEO sessions was the culmination of the first group\u2010wide financial<br \/>benchmarking study. \u201cLeading Jewelers Guild members are learning from each other all<br \/>the time,\u201d said Chris Coleman (Nelson Coleman Jewelers, Towson MD), \u201cbut we wanted<br \/>to take that spirit to another level by comparing financial numbers for different type,<br \/>size, and volume stores while still maintaining complete confidentiality.\u201d A CPA firm<br \/>expert in industry benchmarking was selected to compile members\u2019 information and<br \/>prepare the study. Members\u2019 received a confidential analysis of their own numbers in<br \/>the areas of productivity, profit, cash flow, and financial strength as well as common\u2010sized income statements, balance sheets, and detailed sales mix and margin analysis,&nbsp;plus a similar composite report on the entire group. Photo: Jimmy West.<\/span><\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<div><span>The highlight of the CEO sessions was the culmination of the first group&#8208;wide financial<br \/>benchmarking study. &ldquo;Leading Jewelers Guild members are learning from each other all<br \/>the time,&rdquo; said Chris Coleman (Nelson Coleman Jewelers, Towson MD), &ldquo;but we wanted<br \/>to take that spirit to another level by comparing financial numbers for different type,<br \/>size, and volume stores while still maintaining complete confidentiality.&rdquo; A CPA firm<br \/>expert in industry benchmarking was selected to compile members&rsquo; information and<br \/>prepare the study. Members&rsquo; received a confidential analysis of their own numbers in<br \/>the areas of productivity, profit, cash flow, and financial strength as well as common&#8208;sized income statements, balance sheets, and detailed sales mix and margin analysis,&nbsp;plus a similar composite report on the entire group.
