One of the things that differentiate a Gem & Mineral Society show from a commercial show is the people – they work to get you excited and involved in some aspect of their passion. Are you looking for something to get the kids interested in the Earth Sciences? Most Gem & Mineral Societies have a Jr. Rockhound Program. Here are a couple of the Juniors from the Downey program demonstrating how to cut a gemstone cabochon.<\/p>\n

….and then there are the cases. Cases are not there to sell to you, Cases are a proud collector showing off a collection they are passionate about and while they are beautiful they are also a learning experience…<\/p>\n
