They have long sterling silver ear wires, around which I have wrapped tiny blue tanzanite stones with sterling silver wire. Each earring has six small faceted tanzanite stones. The earrings measure approximately 1 1\/4 inches (32mm) in overall length.  <\/p>\n<p>Both iolite and tanzanite are strongly pleochroic gemstones, meaning that they appear different colors from different angles.
