﻿{"id":175,"date":"2009-05-05T22:31:10","date_gmt":"2009-05-06T03:31:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/leessilver.userblogs.ganoksin.coms\/?p=175"},"modified":"2009-05-05T22:31:10","modified_gmt":"2009-05-06T03:31:10","slug":"flow-lines-on-injected-wax-models","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.ganoksin.com\/leessilver\/2009\/05\/05\/flow-lines-on-injected-wax-models\/","title":{"rendered":"Flow lines on injected wax models"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>WAX INJECTION AND WAX TEXTURING<\/p>\n<p>Wax injection can be a black art.\u00a0 What works for one may not work for others.\u00a0 Wax too hot can cause problems or solve problems.\u00a0 Mold temperature can be a problem.<\/p>\n<p>I have created many buckles for which I made rubber molds.\u00a0 Normally I do not have problems in the waxes I inject.<\/p>\n<p>I use Rio\u2019s Pink Buckle wax.\u00a0 I inject from my pressurized wax injector at a pressure of around 12 psi and a temperature a little less that 160 degrees.\u00a0 My wax pot is\u00a0 pressurized by a built in pump.\u00a0 I clamp the mold in a clamping device.\u00a0 That seems to work for me.<\/p>\n<p>I do not inject wax into a warm mold.\u00a0 If the wax is warm from a previous injection the design is not sharp.\u00a0 The edges are rounded and not sharp.\u00a0 Either a hot mold or too hot wax caused this problem.\u00a0 I find the best wax I get is from the first injection of the day.<\/p>\n<p>The faster the wax flows inth the mols the better.<\/p>\n<p>I think the lines you describe are chill lines caused by the wax flow stopping for an instant then flowing again.
