{"id":63,"date":"2009-03-22T14:25:00","date_gmt":"2009-03-22T19:25:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/lynneglazzard.userblogs.ganoksin.coms\/2009\/03\/22\/anglo-saxons-on-the-north-east-coast\/"},"modified":"2009-03-22T14:25:00","modified_gmt":"2009-03-22T19:25:00","slug":"anglo-saxons-on-the-north-east-coast","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.ganoksin.com\/lynneglazzard\/2009\/03\/22\/anglo-saxons-on-the-north-east-coast\/","title":{"rendered":"Anglo-Saxons on the North East Coast"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_AiA7HHbtlYk\/ScaSArp0ARI\/AAAAAAAAAhc\/w66G-WChshg\/s1600-h\/Anglo-Saxon-bird-carving.jpg\"><img style=\"float:left;margin:0 10px 10px 0;width: 200px;height: 138px\" src=\"http:\/\/3.bp.blogspot.com\/_AiA7HHbtlYk\/ScaSArp0ARI\/AAAAAAAAAhc\/w66G-WChshg\/s200\/Anglo-Saxon-bird-carving.jpg\" border=\"0\" alt=\"\" \/><\/a>I have spent a very interesting couple of days listening to a variety of talks about the Anglo-Saxons on the North East Coast. \u00a0Saturday was spent at the Museum listening to presentations on Monasteries, cemeteries, manuscripts and parishes. \u00a0The archaeologist Steve Sherlock showed some images of very beautiful glass beads among the many interesting finds in excavations in the Loftus area. \u00a0I am always fascinated to see ancient glass beads in museums so seeing them documented as part of the finds of an archaeological dig was really interesting too.
