{"id":60,"date":"2009-03-10T11:16:43","date_gmt":"2009-03-10T16:16:43","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/pixieprincess.userblogs.ganoksin.coms\/?p=60"},"modified":"2009-03-10T11:16:43","modified_gmt":"2009-03-10T16:16:43","slug":"question-of-the-day","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.ganoksin.com\/pixieprincess\/2009\/03\/10\/question-of-the-day\/","title":{"rendered":"Question of the Day"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I totally bombed at the thing-a-day thing&#8230; maybe next year.<\/p>\n<p>I did get my bathroom painted!<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3323\/3285676836_749c6f3980.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nSo, at least, I&#8217;m getting something done:)<\/p>\n<p>As I was working in the studio on some custom jobs I thought to myself, there&#8217;s got to be an easier way to enamel the inside of this sphere.\u00a0 The enamel tends to follow the force of gravity when the enamel is molten causing the edges to be bare and requiring many, many layers to cover up the &#8220;bald&#8221; spots. I know! Blu-stic! Thompson make this super sticky adhesive (far\u00a0gooier than klyr-fire*) for applying cloisonne wires, foils, etc.\u00a0<br \/>\nSo I coat the piece lightly with Blu-stic, coated thoroughly with enamel and let it dry.<br \/>\nI go to torch enamel, with a bit of excitement.<br \/>\nThe Blu-stic starts to bubble a bit, unfortunate, but not unexpected, then&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p>Catches Fire?!\u00a0 Oh, the stink!\u00a0 I quenched the piece ASAP, but wow! Yuck.<br \/>\n<img src=\"http:\/\/farm4.static.flickr.com\/3216\/3286130160_cc12020f21.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><br \/>\nNot Exactly the Aqua Blue I was going for:\/<\/p>\n<p>Moral: I do not recommend Blu-stic for torch firing.<\/p>\n<p>~margarita<\/p>\n<p>*Who\u00a0names this stuff??<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I totally bombed at the thing-a-day thing&#8230; maybe next year.
