﻿{"id":330,"date":"2011-05-01T15:25:18","date_gmt":"2011-05-01T20:25:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rasmussengems.userblogs.ganoksin.coms\/?p=330"},"modified":"2011-05-01T15:25:18","modified_gmt":"2011-05-01T20:25:18","slug":"another-diamond-ring","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/userblogs.ganoksin.com\/rasmussengems\/2011\/05\/01\/another-diamond-ring\/","title":{"rendered":"Another Diamond Ring"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><font color=\"#006400\"><\/font><font size=\"4\"><\/font><font face=\"Verdana\">HAPPY MAY DAY!<\/p>\n<p>It is the first of May and bright and sunny in South Carolina.&nbsp; We have a saying around here, &#8220;It&#8217;s not hot, wait until August.&#8221;&nbsp; Temperatures are in the mid 80&#8217;s but very nice.&nbsp; I finished this ring about 0330 this morning.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>This is the second diamond ring made with small (2 mm) diamonds for the same customer.&nbsp; In this case the shank is made from 10 gauge round halfhard Sterling Silver wire that was wound around a ring mandrel.&nbsp; This was soldered together with hard silver solder.&nbsp; (The difference among the solders is the temperature at which they melt, hard is the highest.)&nbsp; Then an oval plate was sawn from 26 gauge Sterling Silver sheet and soldered to the shank with medium solder.&nbsp; Finally the prong heads were soldered to the plate with easy solder.&nbsp; Pickling and cleaning after each soldering.&nbsp; The polishing to high gloss before setting the stones.&nbsp; The diamonds were then set in the prongs and the ring was done.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/s44.photobucket.com\/albums\/f8\/Gemlover7476\/?action=view&amp;current=DiamondRing3.jpg\" target=\"_blank\"><img src=\"http:\/\/i44.photobucket.com\/albums\/f8\/Gemlover7476\/DiamondRing3.jpg\" alt=\"Photobucket\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Thanks for looking.&nbsp; <\/p>\n<p>John<br \/><\/font><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>HAPPY MAY DAY!
