HISTORIA
\nNuestra comunidad ha estado involucrada en la produccion de artesanias desde mucho antes de que nacieramos. Para conocer la historia tendriamos que regresar a los tiempos de nuestros padres y abuelos.El municipio de Taxco, es uno de los centros artesanales mas ricos de todo Mexico.Somos campesinas de pueblos alrededor de Taxco, principalmente Tecalpulco.En los 70\u2019s y los 80\u2019s nuestro pueblo creo la joyeria de abulon colocado en metal de alpaca.Las incrustaciones florales fueron bien aceptadas y salieron hacia todo el mundo.
\nEn aquellos a\u00f1os nadie supo lo buenos que eramos; cientos de familias trabajaban esto y vinieron compradores de todos lados a comprar nuestra joyeria artesanal.Los mercados se colapsaron en 1990 y de repente nuestras piezas ya no fueron consideradas valiosas. No entendimos que ocurria y forcejeamos buscando maneras de seguir trabajando de la forma en que sabiamos y empezamos a buscar nuevas formas de produccion, nuevos estilos y nuevos clientes.<\/p>\n

Salvamos una maquina de vaciado centrifugado que pertenecia a una compa\u00f1\u00eda extranjera peque\u00f1a donde algunas de nosotras trabajabamos y esto se convirtio en la base de nuestros esfuerzos para crear trabajo para nosotras mismas.<\/p>\n

Los a\u00f1os de los 90\u2019s fueron muy dificiles ya que los mercados tradicionales de artesanias mexicanas se inundaron de todo tipo de productos incluyendo artesanias de China, India, Bali, etcetera.<\/p>\n

Logramos sobrevivir trabajando muy duro, con muchos esfuerzos produciendo nuestros productos alimentandonos de nuestras esperanzas y siempre buscando mejorar, encontrando maneras de ser mas eficientes en nuestra produccion y logrando asegurar la satisfaccion de nuestros clientes.<\/p>\n

Cuando tenemos visitantes, ellos siempre nos dicen que estan impresionados por la forma en que hemos logrado organizar nuestro trabajo y la manera tan profesional en que manejamos nuestros negocios; esto es algo que tuvimos que aprender y que nacio de nuestras necesidades ya que lo que el mercado quiere ahora es precio, calidad y servicio.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

HISTORY
\nOur community has been involved in handcrafts production since before we were born. To tell our story we would have to go back to the times of our parents and grandmothers.
\nThe Municipality of Taxco is one of the richest centers of artesanias in M\u00e9xico.We are country women mostly from villages near Taxco, especially Tecalpulco.In the 1970s and 1980s our villages created abalone jewelry in alpaca metal;The elaborate floral encrustations were well-accepted and sold around the world.
\nIn those years nobody knew how well off we were; hundreds of families in our villages were employed and buyers came from all over to purchase the handcrafted jewelry of Tecalpulco.
\nThe markets collapsed in 1990 and suddenly our pieces were no longer considered valuable.We did not understand and we struggled to find ways to continue working in the way we knew and to seek out new forms of production, new styles, and new customers.We saved a centrifugal casting machine from a small foreign-owned factory where some of us worked and that casting machine became the base of our cooperative effort to create employment.The years of the 1990s were very difficult
\nsince the traditional markets of the Mexican artisan became flooded with all kinds of products encluding handcrafts from China India Bali, etceteraWe have lived from job to job from hope to hope always seeking to improve ourselves and to find ways to be more efficient in our production and to insure the satisfaction of our customers.<\/p>\n

When we have visitors they always say that they are impressed by the way we organize our work and the professional way in which we go about our business; this is something that we have learned as a matter of necessity because today the customers want price, quality, service<\/p>\n

We know that is what it takes these days to compete in the modern marketplace.<\/p>\n

\nThis new commercial world is extremely difficult for craftspeople but it is not more than our ability

\nwith which we are trying to become experts we would like to be able to offer one day and to show other women artisans how they can control their lives

INDIOS NACIDOS EN AMERICA<\/p>\n

Como mujeres mexicanas somos Indias,
\nya que ser mexicano significa ser parcialmente Indio; esa es una caracteristica nativade la poblacion de nuestro pais,especialmente en los pueblos rurales de donde somos.<\/p>\n

Nuestros antepasados vienen directamente de las tribus Aztecas gobernando estas tierras,cuando los Espa\u00f1oles llegaron a nuestro pais, ellos fueron enviados especificamente a proteger, cuidar y quedarse en estas tierras.<\/p>\n

Somos mujeres nativas Indias, sin lugar a dudas, porque nacimos en estas tierras de Anahuac.<\/p>\n

Nuestro pueblo tiene una enorme historia
\ny tradicion en artesanias;
\nnuestros abuelos elaboraban marcos
\ny espejos de esta\u00f1o, tambien fabricaron y fueron los autoresde la joyeria de Concha de Abulon en Alpaca.<\/p>\n

Somos una cooperativa de mujeres artesanas y nuestra mision es preservar nuestras tradiciones,
\ntambien una funcion vital nuestra
\nes mantener nuestras familias
\ny esto ha sido dificil a traves de los a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

La mayor parte de nuestros hombres
\nse fueron a los Estados Unidos hace tiempo, alla, ellos trabajan barato
\nsin tener derechos ni recibir beneficios de ningun tipo.<\/p>\n

Nosotras esperamos que regresen
\npero no es muy facil;
\nmuchos de ellos han estado ya ausentes
\npor mucho tiempo.<\/p>\n

Este es el significado y razon de nuestra asociacion; tener una cooperativa de artesanas es la manera en que estamos tratando de mantenernosa traves de un trabajo que pueda ser bien pagado.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

NATIVE AMERICAN INDIANSAs Mexican women we are Indian,
\nto be Mexican is to be at least partly Indian; that is a native characteristic of the population of our country, especially in the rural villages we are from.
\nOur Ancesters come directly from the Aztec tribes ruling this lands
\nwhen the Spaniards came into our country. They were sent at the time specifically to guard and stay in this land.We are native Indian women, without a doubt, because we were born in these lands of Anahuac.
\nOur village has a long history
\nand tradition of handcrafts;
\nour grandparents fashioned elaborate tin mirrors and frames,our parents were the authors of the alpaca abalone shell jewelryWe are a crafts cooperative of rural women artisans and our mission is to preserve our artisan traditions
\nand also our vital mission is to provide for our families; that has been a difficult challenge through the years.
\nMost of the men in our village
\nhave long ago left for the USA
\nwhere they work cheaply
\nwithout rights or benefits of any kind.
\nWe are waiting for them to come back
\nbut it is not very easy;
\na lot of them have been gone now for a very long time.
\nThis is the meaning and reason of our association; our artisans cooperative is the way we have to try and keep in profitable work<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n

Dentro de la Constitucion de nuestra Cooperativa,

\nComite de Organizacion del Trabajo.
\nComite de Educacion.
\nComite de Prevencion Social.
\nSafety and Hygiene Committee.
\nComite de Capacitacion y Entrenamiento.

No desperdiciamos tiempo hablando
\nsobre como hacer las cosas
\nporque los productos requieren trabajo intensivo y tenemos que trabajar todo el tiempo para cumplir nuestros compromisos con nuestros clientes.<\/p>\n

Hemos tenido varias crisis a traves de los a\u00f1os y tratamos de resolverlos recordando
\nque estamos en esto juntos y que si nuestra empresa falla entonces todos sufriremos como resultado de esto.
\nTrabajamos duro para producir los pedidos que podemos conseguir y despues trabajamos duro para hacer que nos paguen.<\/p>\n

Estamos orgullosas de cada pieza que producimos; somos artesanas orgullosas de Tecalpulco y Taxco.<\/p>\n

Nuestra cooperativa patrocino la donacion de un Equipo Oftalmologico desde los Estados Unidos para nuestro Hospital Adolfo Prieto asi mismo,
\notro proyecto para proveer de suficiente agua potable a Tecalpulco.
\nEstamos trabajando muy duro para tener exito en nuestra empresa para poder hacer algo bueno algo que beneficie nuestras familias, nuestra comunidad y tambien a personas como ustedes de alrededor del mundo.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<\/div>\n<\/td>\n

\nSocial Prevention Committee.
\nSafety and Hygiene Committee.
\nCapacitating and Training Committee.
\nConciliation Committee.We do not spend a lot of time talking about how to do things because our products are very labor intensive and we have to be working all the time
\nin order to meet commitments to our customers.We have had various crises over the years and we try to resolve them by remembering that we are all in this together and that if our business enterprise fails then we will all suffer as the result.We work hard to produce the orders
\nwe are able to get
\nthen we work again to get paid for it.We are proud of every piece
\nwe create and produce;
\nas proud craftswomen of Tecalpulco and Taxco.<\/p>\n

Our cooperative sponsored the donation of ophthalmic medical equipment
\nfrom the United States
\nto our local Adolfo Prieto Hospital also a project to develop abundant clean water for Tecalpulco.
