On April 1st and 2nd TIJT Student Association President, Carlos Aguirre instructed a lunch break workshop on Cuttle Fish Casting.
Students leaned how to carve into the cuttle fish bone using dental tools, wax carving tools and Wolf Tools.
This picture shows Carlos demonstrating the casting process. Carlos used a stainless steel container full of sand to hold the cuttle fish bone upright. Both sides of the cuttle fish bone fit together tightly and are held together with binding wire.
This is the finished casting in fine silver!

I used sand to hold my cuttlebone too- once. A slight spill of molten metal and you have sand in your silver!
