Replacing watch batteries can be a good supplement to a jewelers income especially since they take almost no time and are almost all profit. However, as Josh Durham explains, replacing a battery requires some prior knowledge and a lot of practice. Quartz movements have many delicate parts that should only be touched by a watchmaker. Touching these parts can ruin the watch and will cost you some business. In this mini lunch time class on March 23rd and 24th TIJT students learned the proper techniques for changing batteries.
