On Sept. 10th 2012, all of the students from TIJT were able to attend the Smart Jewelry Show at the Gaylord Hotel in Grapevine, Tx. Stuller graciously sponsored us and covered our travel expenses to the show! All of the students came back from the show energized and excited about what they saw and learned! Here is one of our students description of her experience:
The Smart In-Store Show this September was a great and exciting experience to be able to attend. There were so many opportunities to be able to network, learn, stock up on supplies, and just have fun! One of the most interesting attractions was the bench pressure challenge which consisted of a two hour contest to create a design and hand carve a wax model. The participants for this contest were four of the greatest jewelers in the nation! Just being able to watch them work was an experience in itself. Next to that, all of the exhibitors there were extremely helpful. They had so many creative and luxurious products, gave priceless insight, and were willing to answer questions as well as ask them. All in all, it was one amazing show and I am most definitely looking forward to the next one.
