The month was filled with many important events, such as the final meeting for the Stuller trip on March 6<sup>th <\/sup>, and the following day was the last day of the second quarter meaning that the Spring Semester is half complete. The next week was Spring Break and the department and campus enjoyed a week long holiday.<\/p>\n<p>On the last day of the break, March 17<sup>th<\/sup>, some of the students along with Mrs. Calloway left early in the morning for the Stuller convention in Lafayette, Louisiana. This renowned event took place over a three day period from March 17-19<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 There was a phenomenal turn out with many vendors, learning classes\/opportunities, tours, networking\/socializing opportunities, and equipment buys.<\/p>\n<p>During the time of the convention, March 18<sup>th<\/sup> began the start of the third quarter. First semester work consisted of making wedding bands while second semester left repair behind and began casting. In third semester students worked on stone setting for the illusion top rings, while fourth semester started to prepare for the important JA test which will begin on March 28<sup>th<\/sup>. CAD\/CAM practiced advanced milling and Gemology began the study of diamonds!<\/p>\n<p>On the other side of jewelry, the horology students stayed just as busy. In first semester horology, the students began staffing. In second semester they worked on friction- jeweling over coil hair springs, and the third semester watch students began work with the Jacot tool. To add to all of the learning processes and excitement, the second learning luncheon took place on March 26<sup>th<\/sup>.\u00a0 Fourth semester jewelry student, Steve Duncan, taught macram\u00e9 which is the constructing of bracelets with hemp cords and beads with different types of knot styles. This technique has become extremely popular and the products in very high demand. Wow! So many things happened in March. What about April?..<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>STOP!
