Here is my bench, it’s in it’s usual state of disarray. I organize it at the start of each day, but somehow end up with files and tools all over. My favorite tools have to be my files and gravers. And my flex shaft. Ok, I admit it, I’m a tool junkie…every month I eagerly await my shipment of new toys. It’s a bit like having my birthday every month :). I think I do pretty well to limit myself to just ordering things once a month.
I’ve decided to blog my adventures at my bench. I think this will help me with my goal of keeping my website updated, and also with that other essential skill…photographing my jewelry. Plus, I’m soon moving to Fairbanks Alaska, so I’m sure I’ll have lots of time on my hands all winter. I am excited about the move, the new environment will hopefully give me new ideas, and I can’t wait to see the northern lights and incorporate them into my designs.

I’m enjoying blogging about my bench adventures & I never thought I would. You are right, it knd of forces you to keep things up to date. To me, your bench looks like it’s seen you engrossed for many, many hours & surely, that’s got to be a good thing!
Fellow tool junkie here.
I think messy benches and tool addictions are nearly universal traits among metalsmiths 😀
That’s actually quite tidy. Mine is over flowing with current projects.
Thanks….and I took the photo so that you couldn’t see the mess on the catch tray 😉
I kept waiting for the after photo. You know the one–end of the day, all messy. When I get my bench up to your level of organization, I call it clean and pack it in for the day! Your bench looks great!
