Buying these Xuron Maxi-Shear Flush Cutters Without Retainer from Rio Grande have saved so much pain and hassle.
When I enrolled in my first Metal Arts class, we were given a supply list. On that list was a pair of tin snips. These I used to do EVERYTHING from cutting metal to cutting all sorts of wire including bezel wire. I sure wish I had had these back then. These things have saved so much time and aching fingers.
The ergonomic shape of the handle alleviates the stress caused by the straight sheers. It distributes the pressure so my fingers aren’t doing all the work.
Before with these sheers, my poor fingers would turn red and hurt like the dickens when I couldn’t get enough leverage to get through a thicker gauge wire.
These are supposed to be able to cut through up to 14 gauge metal. I’ve only gone up to 18 gauge so far, and let me tell you, it’s like slicing through butter.
For their ease of use and their ability to keep my fingers from screaming in pain these get a thumbs up!
