I am a long time member of this wonderful Orchid community. through it, I have made many friends I may never have known. The value of this is beyond any imaginable number, and the emotional, to the Sky.
Among my face to face friends are Hanuman, Ton and Charles Lewton Brain. Just typing this, I have a smile on my face.
Yesterday June 18th 2010, Charles was the guest on Jay Whaley’s BlogTalkRadio. Take the time to seek out this interview and listen to it. <www.blogtalkradio.com/whaleystudios> There is so much there, and more. Charles is a remarkable man, and his life to this point is richer than one can envision. It is best if you listen and take it in on your own. There is no way that I can do it justice.
He does speak of the beginning history of Ganoksin and Orchid. This you need to hear. Simply remarkable.
Know that you, the member of Orchid are in the midst of the most sharing, caring, people on Earth. Look at one another with an open mind and heart. Perhaps some of the slings and arrows can be diverted. I find that the most capable, talented, knowledgeable persons in the entire jewelry related community, are right here sharing on Orchid, and have parked any ego on another planet.
Consider that before sending an ego based reply. Believe me, when we feel we know it all, we have settled for less. Sometimes, anger directed publicly on another, is in reality directed at the self. I know that I am not happy when confronted with that, I also know I am usually wrong. I recently was told, “when you know it, you have it.” Oh so true. Yes, I have eaten a lot of crow in my life and fully expect to have to eat more. Sure wish that were not true, but…..

I just wanted to say I appreciate your honesty and kindness. I’ve been reading the Forum for a little over the year, and I’ve read plenty of the threads you’re talking about. I can say from a beginning silversmith, who is almost entirely self-taught, I don’t really find it all that interesting when two people start trading jabs back and forth, day after day, getting off topic, trying to get in the last word.
I’m going to go listen to the radio show right now 🙂
