Thanks, Michael……..
Mr. Donovan, John if I may, I want to thank you for this piece. I have read and re-read many times, it reaffirms and stops me short, all good things. Your posts are always among the first I read each day, regardless of the topic.
Secondly, the box is wonderful. It reminds me of a piece that Fine Woodworking Magazine featured early on in its’ publication as a poster, and I believe that the original now resides in the Smithsonian.
Anyway… someday, I want to sit down, start a blog, but more importantly, post some pictures of my pieces for feedback. I was inspired some time ago by the Bezel Setting thread. I had no cabachons (sp?) so I thought about what I might have around the house, and remembered my beach glass. I learned a lot from doing these pieces especially from the fact that they bend and curve without the semitry (sorry, Im tired and the mind isn’t co-operating and I can’t find spell check on Fire Fox) of cut or faceted stones. A good challenge.
I want tot thank you for the time in reading this and the time and effort that you appear to put into Orchid… it is noticed and appreciated. peace.
