These snakeskin jasper beads are one more example of stones I saw at a gem show and absolutely could not resist. They are an usual octagon shape (rectangle with the corners cut off), and they have so many gorgeous colors and patterns on them.
The snakeskin jasper stone on this pendant is primarily green with a beautiful wavy/swirly pattern on it. I've accented it with a small round green nephrite jade stone (6mm) and sterling silver rondelles.
The pendant measures 1 1/2 inches (4cm) in length, and 9/16 inch (15mm) across.
The pendant hangs from a sterling silver figaro chain, which measures 18 inches (45cm) in length and closes with a small sterling silver lobster clasp.
About sterling silver:
Sterling silver is an alloy consisting of a minimum of 92.5% silver (the other 7.5% is typically copper). I choose to use solid sterling instead of plated metal in my work because it is my experience that plating wears off. Properly cared for sterling silver lasts a lifetime and beyond.
