This necklace is made of sterling silver curved link chain with a single faceted lavender colored amethyst teardrop shaped gemstone between each link. There are 34 gemstones in total, and the necklace measures about 18 1/2 inches (46cm) in length. It closes with a small sterling silver lobster clap.

Sterling silver is an alloy consisting of a minimum of 92.5% silver (the other 7.5% is typically copper). I choose to use solid sterling instead of plated metal in my work because it is my experience that plating wears off. Properly cared for sterling silver lasts a lifetime and beyond.
