This bracelet has two strands of dark olive green 6mm nephrite jade beads. The strands are brought together at two points in the bracelet by sterling silver connectors.
This bracelet measures 7 3/4 inches (19cm) in length, and it closes with a beautiful decorative leafy sterling silver toggle clasp. The bracelet will fit an average to slightly larger than average wrist.
Buying jade can be so confusing because so many stones are sold as jade that aren't actually jade. Nephrite jade is one of the two types of true jade (the other is jadeite). Nephrite jade is also known as Canadian jade and BC jade.
About sterling silver:
Sterling silver is an alloy consisting of a minimum of 92.5% silver (the other 7.5% is typically copper). I choose to use solid sterling instead of plated metal in my work because it is my experience that plating wears off. Properly cared for sterling silver lasts a lifetime and beyond.
