Pancake dies

by kevinpotter on December 30, 2009

I made a video demoing my new line of pancake dies for the hydraulic press. I made a variety of shapes that seemed like they would be useful for a lot of jewelery projects. They are made of mild steel but are lazer cut so the lazer carburizes the edge making it very hard and leaving it sharp. I have run about a 100 parts through one and had no problems. I was using 18 gauge brass and copper. I would imagine that silver would be easier on the die. The dies sell for 15 dollars each so if you need to make a few thousand parts then you can buy a few of the same die. I have sold them at the SNAG conference in Philly and sold about 400 of them and have had no complaints. Here is a video I made today.

Hi Joe,

Unfortunately I can’t do custom designs. I mass produce these dies. However, I do take suggestions. I can’t guarnatee that I would use them, but if they are something that might appeal to a lot of people, I will make a run of them. You can send your ideas to me at kevdanaz@msn.com

If they are something I can use, I will name it after you, if you like.

Thanks,
Kevin
