SLEEPING BEAUTY TURQUOISE (Part 1)

The Sleeping Beauty Turquoise is a highly revered and very much sought-after gem. It is mostly found in the southwestern part of the United States in Arizona. It has gained immense popularity in the last couple of years and has made a huge impact on the popularity of turquoise.and Over the years it has broken several records when it comes to customer demand.

The name of the stone comes from the mountain where the stone was discovered. The mountain resembles a sleeping woman laying on her back with arms crossed.

What it looks like

A sleeping beauty turquoise gem has a pure sky-blue color, and has very little to no veining or webbing. Even in its rough form, the stones are bright and vibrant, even bluer than the bright Southwestern sky overhead. It is this gem’s pure color and natural strength that makes it a favorite for jewelry makers and artists. It is often stable enough for jewelers to be able to polish it and use it for turquoise jewelry without any stabilization or treatment.

The color of the gem comes in varying shades of blue, from sky blue to deep-dark blue turquoise. The most valuable Sleeping Beauty Turquoise stones often mimic the old Persian Turquoise look.
