Black Coral Revisited

by coralnut on December 26, 2008

For those who were paying attention to my previous article on black coral, I’m including pics of two new pieces I just finished for the holiday season.  The first is a piece of heavy heat bent coral, flattened on both sides and inlayed with turquoise.  The finding is hand made Sterling and there is a 4mm opal on the end set in a 14KYG bezel.

The second is a bangle of medium weight heat bent coral in which the smaller end is inserted into a hole in the larger end. A Sterling band was added and pin riveted to hold it all together.  There are two ‘beads’ of black coral  added which move freely most of the way around the bangle.

Cheers and Happy New Year to all you Orchadians out there.

Fantastic Don! I will seek out the original coral article- does it talk about how to bend it etc? – GAIL
