My Titanium Talk

I added a page about titanium coloration a while back. Just now, I loaded a Facebook album with most of the images I use when I give a talk about my work in general, and titanium coloration in particular. There are a lot of images of finished work, and several shots of the process. The album is here if you’d like to take a look.

The full talk takes about 45 minutes, not including Q&A, and my audiences thus far seem to have found it interesting, so if you are part of an organization that would like to have me come speak, get in touch! And have me teach a workshop while you’re at it.

Yes, the heat is what produces the color, and the temperature in any given spot determines the color in that spot. Some people heat the titanium in a kiln to get an even, controlled color (the titanium must be ABSOLUTELY clean for this to produce an even color) but I’m not interested in that in my work so I don’t know the temperatures for specific colors.

You are wonderful for sharing your information with me. I really appreciate it. I found your website my googling for hours different key words.
I have another question, does the temperature of the area where you flame paint affect the colors you get?
Thank you,

My source for all things titanium is Reactive Metals Studio, They also sell my video on how to color titanium– or soon will. I don’t see it in their catalog on line yet, but they have told me they are excited to offer it!
