Rare turquoise ring

by Sam on August 9, 2012

5 carats of Vintage #8 Spider Web from Nevada. This is turquoise my grandfather bought in the early 1960’s, my dad says it is the last lot of turquoise he bought. I have set in a heavy sterling anti-clastic (reverse curve) ring with 18K gold Dots. The stone is mounted in a 22 karat gold bezel. This is a one of a kind piece with my personal hallmark in it. The ring is 7/8 inches  wide, size 7 which I can adjust. The stone measures 14 by 9 mm and yes it really is that deep blue.

Hi what is the price on this. I like the dot motif that you employ.

Lovely! Is it sold? How much would you sell it for?
By the way, I am the daughter of Ruth McElvain Vaughan, who was the little sister of Thornton McElvain, who I believe was a great friend of your grand father in Santa Fe. You or your dad have made “McElvain belt Buckles” for all of my men, and now my nieces want to order “McElvain Buckles” for their husbands. My contact info. was wrong for you, and I am now trying to get correct information. I would also like to order new items. My phone # is 302-778-3828. I live in Delaware, but come occasionally to Santa Fe to see cousins… son and daughter of Thornton McElvain. Thank you!!!
