Get ready to grab your goody bag and go shopping at Metalwerx’ eighth annual Vendor Day! Here’s a taste of what you can buy without paying shipping charges: tools, studio equipment, precious and semi-precious stones, beads, pearls, metals and findings, packaging and display materials, art books, art clay, enameling and glass working supplies, and larger equipment such as ventilation systems, mini rolling mills, and soldering torches. This truly is THE place to be for tools, jewels, and the people who use them.

Our lecture series features an impressive roster of speakers addressing a variety of topics. Starting at 11 am, Jean-Luc Ponsart of Miniflam will speak on “Some Like it Hot: Safer Torch Alternatives “ followed by Karen Christians at noon, “Making the Most of Your Flex-Shaft.” Karen Karon, author of the newly-published “Chain Maille Jewelry Workshop,” will speak at 1 pm on “Ancient Techniques, Modern Approaches: Chainmaille Jewelry;” and Dan Grandi of Racecar Jewelry Inc. ends the series at 2 pm with “Casting Solutions for your Small Business.”  The lectures are free and seating is available on a first-come first-serve basis.

Vendor Day takes place Sunday, October 21 at the Armenian Cultural Center, 47 Nichols Avenue, in Watertown, MA, and plenty of parking is available. Doors open at 10 am, with a $6 contribution at the door.  Save $1 on admission by presenting your Vendor Day postcard or by printing out this page. You will receive a handy goody bag filled with information about suppliers, dealers, and educational opportunities.

Put away the catalogs, network with fellow artists, get advice, meet the experts, and socialize with all your friends from Metalwerx. These vendors will be selling a large variety of hand tools (pliers, tweezers, burnishers, hammers and other specialty forming supplies, keum boo materials, PMC supplies, studio equipment (including enameling kilns, mini-rolling mills, Foredom flexshafts), soldering equipment (miniature torch, ventilation systems, specialty soldering tools), and much more.

The following vendors are selling both cabochons and faceted stones at all price points, precious and semiprecious beads, a large variety of pearls, and  chains and findings:

Service organizations present at Vendor Day include Racecar Jewelry Co. which specializes in casting and mold making, and The Manufacturing Jewelers & Suppliers of America (MJSA). Additionally, you can purchase packaging and display materials at America’s Box and Display, jewelry books and exhibition catalogs at Charon Kransen Arts, and a wide selection of glass working tools, glass blowing equipment, glass bead making kits & supplies and glass  at Wale Apparatus Company.

We hope to see you there!
